Presidents from both parties have lived or spent ample time in Rancho Mirage. Gerald and Betty Ford settled in Thunderbird Country Club after President Ford’s loss to Jimmy Carter, and remained respected residents until their deaths. The renowned Betty Ford Clinic, along with the Eisenhower Medical Center are strong names in the desert. President Obama and Michelle Obama are the most recent presidential couple to spend lots of time in our desert paradise. 

If golf or tennis is your game, you won't go wrong settling in Rancho Mirage. Verdant country clubs line the beautifully landscaped boulevards named Gerald Ford, Frank Sinatra, Country Club, and Bob Hope. You can bike or walk for miles down paths along these landscaped boulevards, and feel as though you're biking or walking through a garden!

Shopping and dining are plentiful, mostly along Hwy 111, and you'll find places unique to the desert, but also high-quality chain restaurants and shopping.
