John Bevan is an agent and the broker of record for Poolside Realty.

He believes that collaboration, honesty, integrity, civility and a good sense of humor are essential to successfully representing his clients.   

Before he and Russell started Poolside Realty, John practiced construction law in both the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles. Just prior to forming Poolside Realty, he held the position of Senior Counsel with the Office of General Counsel for The Regents of the University of California (“UC”). In that capacity, he provided legal services, advice and counseling to a large number of UC campuses and Medical Centers on significant design, construction and real estate-related matters, including matters in litigation.  Before working for UC, he was Special Counsel at the Los Angeles office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pitman LLP, a full- service international law firm, where he specialized in complex construction matters.  Prior to joining Pillsbury, he practiced construction and real-estate-related law at other well-recognized law firms in Los Angeles and San Francisco, accumulating over 25 years of valuable experience in the field of law. 

Before becoming an attorney, John practiced architecture for over 13 years, with large, top-flight design firms in the San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle, Washington. As an architect, John had significant involvement with numerous project types, including single-family and multi-family homes, and nationally significant historic buildings. 

In part due to his unique background in law and architecture, John has the privilege of serving as an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association, and is on the AAA’s national panel of construction arbitrators.

John’s prior work experience and expertise provides an ideal platform for the successful representation of real estate clients who are buying or selling their homes. His client service abilities and history, negotiation skills, contract drafting experience, and design and construction knowledge make him an excellent advocate for any real estate transaction. John has lived in the Palm Springs Area for the better part of 15 years, has owned property here since 1999, and genuinely considers this to be home. His love of the Area, including its history and culture, people, architecture, plant life, landscape architecture, beautiful homes, spectacular mountain views, and how residents of the Area have the enviable ability to create an unrivaled indoor/outdoor living environment, are just a few of the things that drive John’s passion for real estate and the real estate profession here.
