Street Art Comes to Desert Hot Springs

Something cool is happening in Desert Hot Springs (DHS, as we locals call it). ART! Really fantastic “Street Art”. Last April, coinciding with the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, the Stagecoach Festival, and Desert X, Casey Zoltan with Known Gallery in Desert Hot Springs spearheaded the first Downtown Mural Festival (another is planned for this fall) which brought 12 talented muralists to the desert, each creating his/her art on otherwise boring sides of buildings in downtown DHS (along Palm Dr to Pierson Blvd).

The artists include Shepard Fairey , Cryptik, Jaque Fragua, Victor Reyes, Royyal Dog, Benjamin Jeanjean, Travis Young, Mr B Baby, Ryan Yanoe, DabsMyla, Euphoric, and Weirdocult

Casey Zoltan, and Doria Wilms, the City Manager for Desert Hot Springs say this is just the beginning. They intend to bring in more artists over time, and will include art walks and pop-ups, And, the city is eager to embrace its creative awakening, welcoming concerts and a certified organic Farmers Market coming this fall.
