It's Official, Curb Appeal Does Matter

A recent joint study by The University of Texas - Arlington and the University of Alabama shows that homes with “high” curb appeal sell for approximately 7% more than similar homes with “low” curb appeal. Perhaps more important in our current situation, the number rises to as high as 14% during slower markets with a larger inventory of homes on the market for sale. Regardless, that’s a lot of money on the table!

The report was published in the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics.

The study also found that the neighbors’ curb appeal also mattered for the home’s value, accounting for up to a third of a home’s overall premium.

If you’re planning on selling your home, it’s definitely worth considering your home’s curb appeal. While we can’t help improve your neighbor’s curb appeal, we can offer and implement many suggestions and ideas on how to get top dollar for your home.
